Platform-Specific Tips

Windows

• To reset Mathematica defaults, hold down SHIFT-CONTROL during startup.

• When printing graphs with TrueType fonts on PostScript printers, set the front end printing option GraphicsPrintingFormat to RenderInFrontEnd to ensure font fidelity.

Macintosh

• The sequence to reset Mathematica's defaults is SHIFT-OPTION.

• When printing graphs with TrueType fonts on PostScript printers, set the front end printing option GraphicsPrintingFormat to RenderInFrontEnd to ensure font fidelity.

Linux

• Add the setting PixmapCache=NO to the section [SCREEN] of your Xaccel.ini file to improve the color of your graphics.

Unix

• You can customize your individual kernel settings by placing kernel initialization commands in the following file.

  ~/.Mathematica/3.0/Kernel/init.m.

  Version 4.0

  ~/.Mathematica/4.0/Kernel/init.m
