This notebook serves as a whitepaper describing gridMathematica and installation on Apple Xserve hardware, highlighting some of the benefits of that technology. Mac OS X provides tools such as Rendezvous and the Server Status Utility that make configuring grid applications much easier. When combined with gridMathematica, the Mac OS X server management tools provide a powerful and easy-to-manage solution for porting technical computing needs to an Xserve grid.
