If you draw a line beginning at a point on one side of any triangle(except the vertex) and ending at any other side of the same triangle (except the vertex); it will produce another triangle and a trapezoid. This rule is applicable to the isosceles, equilateral, scalene, right-angled triangles. Exceptions- In a right angled triangle, based on the start and end points of the line; a quadrilateral may be formed instead of a trapezoid. The triangle formed may be a right-angled triangle, based on the start and end points of the line. In an equilateral triangle, based on the start and end points of the line, an equilateral triangle may be formed along with a trapezoid
