Convergence is accelerated using the Wegstein method. This has application in chemical process simulators where the Wegstein method is applied to the tear stream. Wegstein method is the default method in Aspen Plus. The example in the notebook solves a simple non-linear algebraic equation using the fixed point and the Wegstein methods. It is found that the Wegsteins method requires less iteration to find the solution.
