The Semenov model consists of a single highly non-linear ODE. This model exhibits multiple steady states for some values of the parameter gamma. We find the steady states of this ODE as a function of this parameter. Two methods are used for this purpose: the ImplicitPlot and the arc length continuation method. Both methods give the same results. Details about the Semenov model can be found in: G. Nicolis, Dynamique Chimique, Thermodynamique, cinétique et mécanique statistique, Dunod, Paris 2005. The author would like to acknowledge the help of Professor Brian Higgins, Chemical Engineering Department, U C Davis who kindly provided notebooks on arc length continuation methods.
