Description

In the present notebook, we show how to compute activity coefficients for solvated binary mixtures where two complexes of different stoichiometry are formed by the two components. In particular, we find the activity coefficients of a mixture of p-Dioxan and Chloroform at 50°C. This problem was presented in the excellent book by Prausnitz et al., Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluid-Phase Equilibria, 3rd edition, Prentice Hall, 1999. The work was originally performed by McGlashan and Rastogi, Trans. Faraday Soc., 54:496, 1958.
