The present notebook gives the concentration versus time and radial position for the mass diffusion in an infinitely long cylinder. A function of the average concentration in the cylinder is plotted versus time. This plot is identical to the one obtained in figure 7.7 of Mathematical Methods in Chemical Engineering by Varma and Morbidelli, page 515, Oxford University Press, 1997.
