This notebook intends to illustrate how one can use Mathematica to plot functions which are not well-behaved, the so-called "monsters" of analysis. Specifically, this notebook contains a plot of Riemann's function, which is continuous at each irrational and discontinuous at each rational, and of Van der Waerden's function, which is everywhere continuous but nowhere differentiable. The notebook Monsters.nb can be viewed by anybody using MathReader. The notebook MonstersUnevaluated.nb is smaller, but you have to evaluate the cells youself.
