SplineWavelet.m is a Mathematica package in which functions to deal with a sequence of data are defined. Using the compactly supported scaling functions and wavelets besed on the cubic cardinal B-splines, the interpolating function that fits the data sequence can be obtained. The function can then be decomposed into a sum of scaling function representation and wavelet representation at a lower resolution level. The wavelet representation has an oscillatory behavior, it is considered to be the noise contained in the orignal data, while the scaling function representation at a lower resolution level is considered as the smoothed data. The notebook, SplineWaveletManual.nb, explains the basics as well as the usage of the package in detail.
