Description

This notebook started when Dr. Wolfram was planning his invited talk for COMDEX, and he realized he needed a complex animation as a part of his presentation.

Originally, the shell animation was set up as a job for a single processor, but it became apparent that the hundreds of complex renderings wouldn't finish in time for the conference. Pressed for time, the authors turned to gridMathematica. With the help of massive parallel processing, the Mathematica animation was completed very quickly, and Dr. Wolfram was able to give his talk as he intended it.

The animation itself involves a growing shell, with a Cellular Automata determining its coloration.
