MathGL3d is an interactive, OpenGL based viewer for Mathematica's 3D Graphics. It supports free rotation, simple animations, textures, interactive viewpoint and light source modification. It comes with an interface to other 3D graphic programs like POVRay (ray tracing), virtual reality modeling language, QuickDraw3D and DXF. MathGL3d can read 3Script and DXF files and transfer the data to the Mathematica kernel. The OpenGL images can be saved as PNG-bitmaps, PostScript bitmaps and smooth shaded PostScript. MathGL3d can also read and import Geomview OFF files. The OpenGL images can be copied into Mathematica notebooks. MathGL3d also supports polygon reduction of the generated 3D graphics. The source code can be compiled on most UNIX systems: binaries for Solaris/SPARC, SGI, Linux/386, MS-Windows and MacOS are provided. Help files and a tutorial are included in the distribution. MathGL3d works with Mathematica 5.0-5.2.
