CARTAN is an easy-to-use tensor component package. The program makes use of the powerful formalism of rigid frames (e.g., orthonormal frames or complex null frames a la Newman and Penrose) and can return results both in the rigid frame and in the coordinate basis. CARTAN can do calculations in general Riemann-Cartan spaces of arbitrary dimensions and signatures. Tensors such as Riemann, Ricci, Weyl, Einstein, Faraday, Lanczos, and Cotton-York are predefined. It is also possible to extend the program by adding your own functions and variables. In the input session the user specifies a frame in terms of the metric and the vielbein components. After the input has been received, the program is ready to perform a large number of geometrical computations.
