Topic for November 17, 2004: Genetically Seeking Sparse Rulers

On 1 Nov 2004, the 24th Golomb ruler was verified. I wrote a Math Games column about it. Part of my investigation was Sparse rulers -- rulers that can measure any distance up to their length, but with as few marks as possible.

I was quite pleased to find David Fowler's notebook.
