This graduate course provides an introduction to Topology -- covering some of the basics of point-set topology, algebraic topology, and geometric topology. A freshman undergraduate student taking this course wrote a Java applet that implements the algorithm for classifying surfaces discussed in class. It is available at http://mystic.math.neu.edu/inikolov/Surfaces/Surfaces.html Topics: - Compactness
- Connectedness
- Fundamental group
- Triangulations
- Graphs
- Surfaces
- Simplicial homology
- Covering spaces
