The course is an undergraduate introduction to differential equations for engineer and science majors. Students learn to solve differential equations, discuss some of the properties of the solutions and, in most cases, compute approximate solutions of differential equations. Mathematica is used interactively through out the course and all the materials are available online on the web. The course includes the following features: * Mathematica is used together with a conventional textbook * Concepts are taught in the context of a problem solving approach via a series of Mathematica notebooks * An extensive suite of interactive, online resources has been developed (including tutorial Mathematica notebooks, quizzes, homeworks, projects, and extra credit problems) Topics: - First Order Differential Equations
- Second Order Linear Equations
- Series Solutions of Second Order
- Linear Equations
- The Laplace Transform
