The Computable Document Format (CDF) technologies provide quite a versatile environment suitable for many different use cases. In addition to being able to create interactive, well-formatted documents, it can be leveraged to build (almost) standalone applications. Furthermore, one of the benefits of using the Wolfram Language is the fact it is supported on all three major operating systems. This and many other reasons caused the Computer-Based Maths (CBM) team to choose it for developing a platform for our innovative interactive materials.
