Visualizing higher dimensional data can frequently be a challenge. We’ll look at recent additions and improvements to functions for visualizing your volumes, functions over volumes, and fields over volumes. The introduction of regions allows the easy specification of arbitrary 3D spaces, which have been incorporated into a wide variety of visualization functions. We have also added ways to easily and flexibly plot your values and fields over 3D regions in multiple ways. One general approach judiciously uses opacity to see values in a 3D region, while another uses arbitrary slices through the 3D space to see the values. Both approaches allow a lot of freedom in exploring your data while being easy to use.
