Mathematica 10 introduced system-wide support for computation with geometric regions. The latest release (10.3) brings significant improvements in symbolic computation with regions. In our talk we will focus on special regions. We will present newly introduced classes of special regions and discuss a framework of specialized formulas and algorithms used for symbolic computation with special regions. The specialized methods are used for computation of region properties, automatic simplification of Boolean combinations and transformations of regions, and for computation of integrals over regions.
