Mathematica will likely never support the rich, designer-centric interface that a good 3D design tool requires. Rhino, a 3D design tool, will most certainly never offer the depth and breadth of Mathematica mathematical and extra-mathematical functionality. Yet the possibilities that arise from putting those two things together are too exciting to ignore. I'll report on preliminary experiments in getting Rhino and Mathematica to cooperate in design tasks and speculate on where that cooperation might lead.
