Mathematica 10 introduces a new mechanism for working with unevaluated expressions. ÊInactive prevents specific functions from firing without suppressing all evaluation. This finer-grained control makes it easy to build up partially evaluated expressions programatically. ÊCombined with the deep knowledge about mathematical functions built into Inactive, displaying and deriving mathematical identities in Mathematica has never been easier. ÊThis talk will show a variety of applications of Inactive, from elementary to advanced, and should be of interest to Mathematica users at all levels of expertise.
