Stephen Wolfram has proposed a new and unique paradigm for theoretical scientific research which has been both misunderstood and misrepresented. In this talk, I will explain the Wolfram paradigm and compare/contrast it with the traditional methodology of theoretical scientific research, discussing its advantages and disadvantages in the research enterprise.
