Mathematica 10 introduced a number of powerful functions for region based computation. NDSolve can now solve PDE's over arbitrary regions but currently built-in methods cannot solve elliptical eigenvalue problems over arbitrary regions. I will show how to use the new region and mesh functions to solve elliptical eigenvalue problems over arbitrary regions. These methods are very fast and efficient and allow the solution of quite complex problems. Several physically important examples will be discussed.
