DSolve has received a substantial upgrade for Mathematica 10. For the first time, symbolic solutions to hybrid differential equations with events and delay differential equations are possible. Special methods have been implemented for solving initial value problems related to nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Finally, DSolveValue allows users to directly obtain arbitrary expressions of solutions for differential equations. We will give an overview of the new functionality along with applications to the modeling and simulation of physical systems.
