A finite difference method has been developed from scratch using Mathematica. Here, this method is compared to both a commercial software package and a theoretical calculation; convergence testing has also been performed. Computational differences in the scratch method are noted, which may explain the deviation between the commercial software package result and the theoretical result for a given problem. Which computational method is correct? The audience can decide.
