Wireless communication allows for movement in mobile ad hoc networks. Usually, the assumption is made that movement is random. But in emergency response, movement will be coordinated. We discuss how such movement can be modeled in the Mathematica environment. On the one hand, our work draws on previous modeling of diffusion limited aggregates in physics, and on the other hand, it draws on larger scale models of human behavior. We will show the pragmatic implications of our work for emergency response and for mobile ad hoc networks. We will also discuss its relation to sensor networks.
