The aim of this tutorial is to gain a familiarity with the aspects of Mathematica relating to graphics. Built-in graphics functions, standard graphics packages, and options to graphics commands are the areas in which we will spend most of our time. We will explore the aspect of Mathematica's programming language that allows us to customize built-in functions and create new ones. The breadth and depth of Mathematica make it impossible for us to cover every function in detail. In many cases the functions we explore today are much richer in scope than we will have time to address. Mathematica's help systems and manuals will allow us to explore them more fully on our own.
