Mathematical models of shells permit the computer graphical simulation of form, growth, and evolution. A mathematical model formulated on the basis of isometric, or "gnomonic," shell growth is presented, and the computer program CerioShell is used to graphically simulate various shell forms. The use of mathematical modeling and computer graphical simulation of shells to test hypotheses of morphological evolution is discussed.
