Computer algebra systems (CAS's) are able to manipulate complicated algebraic quantities, perform symbolic differentiation, and find limits. CAS's are a powerful assistant for keeping track of the messy details in multi-step problems which are prone to human error when done by pencil and paper. This note illustrates how the theoretical and computational aspects of L'Hôpital's rule can be enhanced with the use of a CAS. The computer algebra software Mathematica illustrated in this article is used in the computer laboratory of the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
