Parametric Curve Fitting: An Alternative to Lagrange Interpolation and Splines

We shall discuss a method for obtaining parametric equations of a smooth curve that passes through a sequence of points, and compare it to cubic splines and to the method of interpolation by quadratic polynomials using the Lagrange formula. A Mathematica program automating this method of curve fitting is also provided.
