A Sampler of Elegant Programs

This article presents several elegant Mathematica constructs, using them to solve some example problems. By an elegant program I mean not only one that minimizes the number of commands used and avoids temporary variables not intrinsic to the algorithm but one that is also reasonably efficient. Functional programs seem most likely to satisfy these requirements.
