Partitioned Transport in Laminates: Analytic Solution via Symbolic Computation

This report discusses methods for algebraically solving the problem of the transport of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in multiple phase systems. Two alternative formulations for internal boundary conditions have been considered. Comparisons with current numerical models are made, validating the solutions. The diffusion coefficients for benzene and naphthalene in a polymer have been determined by using the algebraic solutions described in this report.
