Hi Jeffrey,

what do you want to solve ?

Limit[2 x-1,x->0]  is equal to -1 so will only get -1 == -1 and that is
evaluated to True. There is no variable for what you can solve your
equation and

Solve[Limit[2x+y-1,x->0]==-1,y]

works fine
