Description

The notebook plots figure 1 and 2 of the paper by V. Petrov, S. K. Scott and K. Showalter, Mixed-mode oscillations in chemical systems, J. Chem. Phys. 97 (9) 1992 pp. 6191-6198. Figure 1 is the variation of observed maxima in decimal logarithm of the dimensionless concentration of species B with increasing nu (the bifurcation parameter). Figure 2 show the three coexisting stable oscillations for nu=0.29776. Indeed, we find period-2 oscillations as well as two mixed-mode oscillations (one large plus two small excursions and one large plus three small excursions).
