Description

We show how one can plot the power spectrum of a function in order to obtain the major peaks and their relative intensity. We use a simple example that can be found in the book written by Kenneth J. Beers: Numerical Methods for Chemical Engineering, Applications in Matlab, Cambridge University Press, 2007. We obtain the same results as those given in Figure 9.2 of the above reference.
