Description

Polymer calendering is an important industrial technique. We show how one can obtain the point of departure and the pressure distribution in a Calendered Sheet using numerical techniques based on FindRoot and NDSolve. Analytical expressions for the point of departure and the pressure distribution are derived in the excellent book Fluid Mechanics for Chemical Engineers by James O. Wilkes, Prentice Hall, 1999.
