 The Roots compressor consists of two cycloidal wheels each with two cogs. Some cars, from 1920 to 1980 used this mechanism for air compression. It is a nice mechanism and the present notebook shows you how it works. Mathematica symbolics and graphics capabilities are ideal to produce an exact animation of this mechanism.
