Description

The PNGBitmap package reads and writes Portable Network Graphics bitmaps into the kernel of Mathematica. The images can be manipulated, written and used as textures for Plot3D[]- and ParametricPlot3D[]-like functions. The Display[] function is modified to save PNG bitmaps with Display[file, graphics,"PNG"]. Compiled binaries for MS-Windows, Linux and Solaris are included in the distribution. The output can be read by many graphics programs and Web browsers, and the images can be used as image and texture maps for POVRay.
