![](/common/images/spacer.gif) We present physica, a Mathematica package for the symbolic calculation of tree order processes. Originally physica was developed for the calculation of the total cross section of pi N --> pi pi N scattering in Chiral Perturbation Theory. After a general introduction, the concepts used in physica are discussed and it is shown how physica can be used to calculate cross sections.
