Description

Tsunami Complex simulations involving differential equations often benefit from 64-bit versus 32-bit processing. In this notebook, the 64-bit capabilities of Mathematica 5.2 are used to study the propagation of a slightly simplified tsunami wave, including:
  • Building the Model
  • Simulating the Model
  • Analyzing the Simulation Results
In this application, having more memory means you can simulate a more realistic model. In other words, the resolution of fine features becomes possible, leading to more accurate analysis results. GUIKit is employed to better display the model as it runs.
