A new version of Wolfram|Alpha’s food data has recently been exposed in the Wolfram Language to better support complex queries and updated data sources. Seamlessly integrating new features of the Entity Framework such as EntityInstance and implicit entities, the newly exposed food data can be easily used to efficiently handle new and interesting queries involving images, colors, shapes, dimensions and dietary restrictions. These queries can further be visualized with Wolfram Language functions into weighted word clouds and image collages to show nutritional and geometric properties of various groups of foods. With the updated nutritional information for thousands of foods and hundreds of properties available in the Wolfram Language, diets of various types can now be analyzed an visualized, including diets based on colors of foods.
