Description

One of the major changes incorporated into the next major version of Mathematica is in the graphics and visualization system. These changes will lay the groundwork for a much richer Mathematica visualization environment as future development continues. This presentation is intended as an introduction to some of the possibilities that Mathematica 6 allows, primarily in the area of 3D graphics and visualization. It will be presented in an open manner, encouraging questions and input from the audience, and will include not only the output, but the input used to generate the examples as well. Topics of discussion will include the new lighting system, speed improvements, adaptive refinement of 3D graphics, new options, and a number of other areas.
