Description

Methods for finding the solution of second order differential equations are available with most computer algebra systems (CAS's). Unless the mathematical theory is illustrated, the pedagogical benefits of using a CAS are not fully utilized. This article shows how Mathematica can be used to reinforce both the theoretical and computational aspects of solving differential equations.
