Computer algebra systems (CAS's) are able to manipulate complicated algebraic quantities, perform symbolic differentiation, and find limits. CAS's are a powerful assistant for keeping track of the messy details in multi-step problems which are prone to human error when done by pencil and paper. This note illustrates how the theoretical and computational aspects of L'H˘pital's rule can be enhanced with the use of a CAS. The computer algebra software Mathematica illustrated in this article is used in the computer laboratory of the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
