The package Format.m extends Mathematica's built-in formatting rules for translating expressions into other languages. The new functions permit assignments to expressions, inlcude lists as data objects, and address many other limitations of the standard rules. Together with the Splice communication process, the package allows efficient, accurate, and flexible translation of Mathematica expressions into compiled-language code.
