Description

Several frequent communicable diseases are routinely monitored in France under a National Institute of Health and Medical Research program sponsored by the National Department of Health. The surveillance relies on data provided by some 600 sentinel general practitioners (SGPs), scattered throughout the country, who regularly access a dedicated computer in Paris to update the epidemiologic database. To visualize the diseases dynamically, a Mathematica model and attendant graphic tool have been developed.
