Description

In this newvlhc.nb notebook, I demonstrate the use of Mathematica commands for parameter searchers of hadron colliders in which the synchrotron radiation damping time is short compared to the beam lifetime, and the beam emittances are determined by the equilibrium between quantum excitation and damping due to synchrotron radiation [1]. In a companion notebook lhc.nb I study the opposite case of synchrotron radiation dominated hadron colliders in which the synchrotron radiation damping time is not short compared to the beam lifetime, and the beam emittances are determined by the injectors, using LHC parameters as an example.
