Description

In this paper we shall discuss the use of Mathemiatca as part of a mathematical hypermedia learning environment (HMLE) developed in the Department of Mathematics at Tampere University of Technology. The HMLE allows the conversion of lecture notes and accompanying materials into hypermedia. In addition to linking and cross-referencing, by incorporating Mathematica as its computational engine, HMLE can pose questions, process the answers, and give feedback to students. As an example we shall mainly consider a hypermedia course on matrix algebra running in our department.
