Packed Array Technology

Packed array technology provides an optimized structure for certain classes of numerical expressions. This technology allows a valuable saving in the storage required and also the use of specialized computation methods which offer significant speed advantages. This talk will show how packed array technology is integrated with the system, how it is generated, and how its use can be followed and monitored. The emphasis will be on using it with Mathematica programming constructs rather than on its use in the implementation of specific numerical algorithms.
