The Numerics Strategy of Mathematica

Mathematica possesses a rich and powerful compendium of numerical functions that have evolved constantly since Version 1. Since these numerical capabilities are tightly integrated with symbolics and graphics, many unique and novel techniques become possible. This talk will survey the development of Mathematica's numerics and explore some of the exciting new directions that future versions may take.
